Pleadings
Legal briefs aren’t the only kind of legal writing that matters. Drafting RFDs, RFAs, interrogatories, complaints, and answers is not the flashiest part of legal writing work, but doing them well is essential to any litigation strategy. Drafting a well-researched, well-written complaint can save you from redrafting and refiling and keep you on the judge’s good side. Drafting comprehensive requests for answers and documents can fill holes in your legal strategy and get you the right information to win your case.
As a legal writer, my goals is to draft well-researched pleadings that adhere to local court rules without sacrificing creativity and style. Whenever possible, I employ creative drafting techniques like embedding images and diagrams into pleadings to make them easier to read and understand. My goal as a legal writer is not to simply get the job done but to help you stand out as an attorney.
